Gentleman's Game | A new look at classic card magic
Gentleman's Game is the newest book from Sebastian Gerhardt, featuring ideas for the stack worker looking to use the power of the memorized deck to take their routines to new heights.
Contents Include
Mnemonic Accoutrement- A system for crimping certain cards throughout the deck and marking the edges of other cards to make finding any named card in a stack instantly easy to achieve.
Can’t Stop- The classic stop trick done with a named card. A card is freely named, the magician begins taking cards from the deck one by one and asks the spectator to say stop. When they do the card they stop on is the named selection.
Fair Exchange- A handling for the classic two card transposition that doesn’t use any duplicates or gimmicks, just a stacked deck and a spectators freely named selection.
Frank’s Cut- A method of cutting the deck to a specific location that maintains stack order. (Inspired by the Frank Thompson cut)
Any Card Any Birthday- A presentation for ACAAN that uses the classic cards as a metaphor for the calendar as a way to make the ACAAN more personal and powerful.
The Privileged Card- A handling of the classic ambitious card that both uses a stack and retains its order at the end of the routine.
What others are saying about Sebastian Gerhardt and Gentleman's Game:
"Sebastian has groundbreaking new ideas using a stacked deck that you're seriously missing out on if you don't get a copy of this book. Mnemonic Accoutrement by itself is worth the price of admission, but all of the routines are practical and make an incredible impact on audiences." -Erik Casey
"Sebastian may be a gentleman, but his magic is down right dirty. If you are a lover of stack based magic his new book Gentleman's Game will elevate your magic." -Ryan Schlutz
"Sebastian has always been one of my favorite close-up magicians. His prowess with cards is monumentally stunning to me, not only because the magic is so strong but because the methods he employs become invisible in his hands. To finally peek behind the curtain, and peek into the mind of this "Gentleman of Magic" is an elysian pleasure. Many books focusing on cards are hard to understand, but Sebastian's style of teaching makes it easy to comprehend the inner workings of his craft. This is a fantastic resource for the dedicated practitioner of magic and I cannot recommend it highly enough." -Anthem Flint
"One of the most skilled performers I have ever seen." -Dan Harlan
"Sebastian is a young and confident performer with much knowledge in the vast possibilities that a deck of cards offers. Gentleman's Game takes a memorized deck and explores new and uncharted work. If you do memorized deck work, you would be remiss not to implore this knowledge into your performance. His writing is sophisticated, easy to follow, has all the credits, and something about it just makes me want to sit down and read it with a dirty martini in hand!" -Derek Ostavani
